yoga
Yoga is an ancient spiritual practice that engages the body, balances the mind, and electrifies the spirit. The benefits of yoga are vast and well researched and whether you’re new to yoga or you already have an established yoga practice, I’m excited to offer both group and private 1:1 classes as a tool to support your wellbeing.
I teach yoga as a tool for empowerment and embodiment. My teaching style engages the radical balance between accepting and embracing students' physical and mental challenges while simultaneously celebrating their always-present capacity for joy and play. With the breath as a guide, I employ mindfulness techniques and invite students to experiment with self compassion.
I prioritize the physical and emotional safety of my students within my sequencing, cueing, and class themes. I have the knowledge and experience necessary to facilitate a trauma informed experience, which ensures a safe yoga practice for any student who brings anxiety, depression, PTSD, or C-PTSD with them onto their mat.
My inclusive approach and focus on optional pose modifications allows students of all skill levels and mobility ranges to thrive within my classes. I strive to demystify the practice of yoga and create a safe container for students to come home to their bodies, engage their power, and negotiate the balance between structure and surrender.
I offer vinyasa, hatha, ashtanga, yin, yoga nidra, and restorative classes and it’s okay if you don’t know the differences between those styles. I’m confident we can work together to determine the best ways to support your yoga practice. See my offerings page for more details.

Private 1:1 yoga with Nikki has been a therapeutic journey for me. Starting as a complete beginner, Nikki was an expert guide - encouraging and challenging me through a carefully curated set of poses. As I experienced highs and lows, Nikki walked that journey with me and helped me navigate my body through them. I would highly recommend Nikki, wherever you are in your journey.

Nikki brings a deeply needed medicine to this world. She is an alchemist turning lead into gold. She has a profound capacity to sit with very real pain and sorrow and also, somehow, find this vibrancy of humor and joy within the suffering. To me, a true teacher can laugh at oneself, can ride the edge between joy and sorrow and not make one better than the other. She has taught me so much about embracing our shadows and finding laughter in deep pain and the chaos of life! I truly treasure this gift and think of her often when I find myself taking life too seriously & decide to shift into joy and fun.

Nikki is such a great yoga instructor for beginners. I had never taken a class before I took Nikki's group class. I was a little nervous at first, but her sassy and fun loving attitude cut my nerves in half even prior to the first pose. She gave great modifications for more difficult poses and taught that we needed to listen to our bodies and do what they needed. She was exceptionally safe in her practice and helped me find balance in my poses by offering additional recommendations on how to stabilize my form when she saw I was wobbling. I definitely recommend Nikki's yoga classes to a beginner at yoga. She will make you feel safe, comfortable, and calm.
